The Plastic Problem

Polybags are an essential commodity in the apparel supply chain – they are a lightweight, effective and cheap way to protect products from getting damaged in transit. But their most common iteration is 100% plastic and usually not possible to recycle, adding to the enormous, global plastic pollution problem. In 2018 alone 335 million metric tonnes of plastic was produced, 50% of it destined for single use.

Sometimes, it’s what’s on the outside that counts.

Our compostable packaging moves a step forward from biodegradability – they are disposable in home composts, release nutrients, return to the soil in a safe way, and leave no residue behind. Our bio-based polybags have a shelf-life of 12 months and are 100% home compostable, disappearing in 6 months when disposed of in correct composting conditions. This makes them a perfect replacement for the conventional plastic polybag.
