House of Baukjen wins the UN Global Climate Awards
We are so thrilled to announce that our customer and BCorp, Baukjen, has won the 2021 UN Global Climate Action Awards and have been hailed as Carbon Negative Circular Leaders in the fashion industry.
We urgently require solutions and actions from everyone: public and private sectors, civil society, academia, investors, cities and regions, etc. The winners of the 2021 UN Global Climate Action Awards provide tangible proof that solutions to tackle the climate crisis exist and that they can be replicated and quickly scaled up. This is what inspiring leadership looks like.
Their zero-waste, circular model has been commended for setting Science-Based Targets to reduce their carbon footprint, switching to 100% renewable energy, working with ethical suppliers, implementing reuse and rental schemes to reduce first-hand consumption and a Living Wage across its business.
This 360-degree approach to sustainability has included working with SupplyCompass since 2020 when they were one of the first users of our platform. In fact, they credit our platform for helping them reduce their lead times by a whopping 43%, enabling them to reduce resource use and waste!
The company is working with SupplyCompass to shorten its supply chains and gain further insight into the materials it uses. This has resulted in a 43% shortening of its lead times by going modular which has reduced waste and carbon output.
We are always super proud to work with such forward-thinking brands and see our platform help them on their sustainability journey.
